Renee Moore Appointed New AD at Duchesne High School
President Paul Boschert ‘77 is pleased to announce the appointment of Renee (Reimer) Moore ’86 as the school’s new Athletic Director. Moore fills the post previously held by Boschert, who was recently appointed as Duchesne’s new president.
Renee joined the faculty at Duchesne in 1990 after attending the University of Missouri—St. Louis on a volleyball scholarship. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and certification in Business and Social Studies.
She was previously in the role of Assistant Athletic Director, in addition to long serving Duchesne’s students as a teacher and academic dean, as a moderator and mentor, as a coach, and as Assistant Admissions Director.
“The Duchesne community is looking forward to seeing Renee in her new position as Athletic Director,” stated President Boschert. ”I have had the pleasure of working with Renee as my assistant in the Athletic Department the past couple of years and she has been an outstanding asset to me and to our athletic program. She is loyal, dedicated, and well-respected by the Duchesne community and will serve Pioneer Nation well in her new role. Renee’s 34 years of experience and love for Duchesne High School make her the perfect choice to fill the position of Athletic Director at her alma mater. We wish her well and much success in leading our athletic department."
Renee will continue teaching at Duchesne as well. She believes providing opportunities for problem-solving is the best way for students to learn, and her classes are known for the creative and interactive methods Renee uses to encourage and challenge her students. Outside of the classroom, Renee has made it a point to attend as many games and other extracurriculars as possible. “I love interacting with the kids outside of the classroom; it gives me a whole other perspective and helps me get to know them better,” she said. Renee will apply that ability to connect with students in her new post.
She continued, “I am grateful for the opportunity to step into the position of Athletic Director. My experiences as athlete, coach, parent, and educator have helped me develop an understanding of the positive impact that competing in sports has in life. I am excited to take on this new role and am fortunate to be inheriting a veteran coaching staff, two former athletic directors in our building to work with and learn from, and two recent state championships – who wouldn’t want this job?! I look forward to guiding and supporting our athletic staff and student-athletes as they represent Duchesne with high character, a commitment to continual improvement, and Pioneer pride."
As the 2022-2023 recipient of both the Spirit of Duchesne Alumni Achievement Award and Teacher Excellence Award, Renee was independently selected for these honors by both her fellow alumni and her Duchesne students and colleagues.
In true form, she was humbled by both awards and hesitant to have attention drawn to the fact that she truly “bleeds blue” as she serves Duchesne in so many capacities. In the spirit of our patroness, Renee has served our school community throughout her adult life with grace and devotion. She has made an impact on literally thousands of lives over her 30+ year career at Duchesne, and we welcome and congratulate her in this next chapter of serving Pioneer Nation!
