DHS Career-Scoring Record Broken

On September 25, 2024, history was made in the Duchesne Soccer program. Senior Cole Brockmeyer ’25 broke the career-scoring record of 53 goals previously held by Andy Pancio ‘01 during a home game with Granite City Senior High School.

While researching the record, we had the great fortune of reconnecting with Andy. He held the career-scoring record for 24 years, and in those 24 years, Andy has accomplished much to make Pioneer Nation proud. After graduating from Duchesne, Andy went on to play collegiate soccer at Butler University. In those four years, Andy continued to display the same leadership skills, motivation, and competitive spirit he was known for when playing for the Pioneers. He received the Frank “Pop” Hedden award for top freshman student and went on to be named Horizon League first-team academic all-conference each of his four years at Butler!

Andy graduated from Bulter in 2005 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish. He then took a job with Maxim Integrated Products, now Analog Devices. Andy and his wife, Pallabee, now call Dallas home. However, Andy and Pallabee look forward to their visits back to St. Charles, where his parents, Russ and Linda, still live, and he has a chance to reconnect with his sisters Emily ‘02 and Elise ‘04, as well as his two nephews.

Andy still enjoys playing soccer, although he shares that his time playing soccer at Duchesne was his most enjoyable. He shared some words with the current Duchesne soccer program. “My memories of playing soccer at Duchesne will be forever cherished, but my one regret is not bringing home a State Championship for the school. Without hesitation, I would gladly trade any individual record to have one more crack at a state title.” He continued, “A huge congratulations to our 2023 State Champions, and while I’m incredibly envious of you, it also brings me great pride to share in your success and to see what an incredible program Coach Turner has built on both the men’s and women’s sides”.

Finally, Andy shares with Cole Brockmeyer, the new Season Record holder, “Though I suppose I should be sad about relinquishing the scoring record, the buzz surrounding it and having old friends and faculty reach out to me about its inevitability, has only stirred up great memories and excitement. Cole, congratulations on an amazing career thus far, and best of luck to you and the squad for the rest of the season. You’ve got fans rooting for your success from Dallas. Stay focused and finish strong.”

Congratulations to Cole Brockmeyer, his parents Nick and Kate, and brother Lucas ’27 for an amazing accomplishment. Finally, thank you to Andy for taking the time to reconnect with his forever Duchesne friends. Once a Pioneer, Always a Pioneer!
