Diversity in Tandum

On September 18, six Pioneers participated in the Diversity in Tandem Training workshop hosted at Christian Brothers College High School with 13 other area Catholic High Schools. The students participated in a day-long workshop featuring Joycelyn Barnes, Mary Dee Schmidt, and Dr. Jarret Smith. 

The event gave students insights into unconscious bias and opportunities to facilitate challenging conversations. They engaged in hot-topic conversations and learned how to understand different perspectives.

"This experience was one I will remember for a lifetime," said Gabi Ulrich '26. "I talked with students from multiple high schools and shared ideas about topics that usually I wouldn't be comfortable talking about."

"I think this experience was great," said Molly Glosier '27. "I learned how to expand my leadership and conversation skills. Getting out of my comfort zone and talking about a large variety of things to better myself and the people around me will definitely help me move forward."

Duchesne was the only co-ed school in attendance.
