SICK LEAVE: If an employee has accrued sick days, they may be used to receive paid time-off if the employee is unable to work due to his/her personal illness or illness of an immediate family member for whom they are responsible. Sick pay for maximum of ten days per year. Sick pay may be accrued but not used during the employee’s first 90 days of employment. Any unused sick pay benefits may accrue and be carried over from year to year (retroactive to July 2002) up to a maximum of 120 days. Accrued but not used sick days will not be paid upon termination.
Part-time employees receive sick pay benefits proportionate to the time worked (i.e., an employee who works 20 hours per week receives a maximum of five days annually).
Duchesne High School may request written verification of the illness by a health care professional.
